Mission
To provide professional and administrative service and advice
to the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives.
Overall responsibility of the Office of the Parliament
resides with the Clerk of the House, who is also the Accounting Officer.
In the exercise of her parliamentary responsibilities, the Clerk of
the House acts under the general directions of the Speaker of the House
of Representatives, the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives,
the practices of the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
and, as required by statutes. The Clerk is also guided by the procedures
and practice of the British House of Commons and may also refer to practices
in other Commonwealth Parliaments.
The Office of the Clerk of the House provides services
to support the efficient conduct of the House of Representatives, its
committees and certain joint committees as well as a range of services
and facilities for Members of Parliament.
